The Strumber technology was created from the belief that the materials of the future must be high-performance, low-emission, and based on renewable or waste raw-material streams. At our R&D Center near Lublin, located in one of Poland’s most dynamic academic regions, we conduct continuous research, validation, and development of next-generation lignocellulosic composites.
Strumber is the result of thousands of iterations, hundreds of controlled process parameters, and extensive international collaboration. Every stage of development - from raw-material analysis and equipment engineering to material testing - undergoes scientific verification, standardisation, and rigorous intellectual-property protection procedures.
The Strumber R&D Center is designed as a development and technology laboratory, enabling a full research cycle on wood-based materials and their sustainable alternatives.
We conduct tests in accordance with European standards to objectively evaluate the quality of the materials we develop:
Surface hardness – Characterisation of resistance to mechanical deformation.
The results of these procedures form the foundation for designing process parameters, predicting material behavior, and implementing further technological iterations.

Each plant-based raw material exhibits a unique microstructure, which influences its behavior during processing. In our laboratory, we use microscopic analysis to:
These analyses allow us to accurately model Strumber properties and respond quickly to the variability of natural raw materials.
More than a material, Strumber encompasses the entire production technology. Within the R&D center, we:
Our expertise in machine construction represents one of the core pillars of Strumber’s patent protection.

Our research is conducted iteratively. Every new raw material, every adjustment in thermal, moisture, or pressure parameters represents a distinct development path.
We estimate that each year we perform several thousand trials, covering:
This rapid pace of development allows us to continuously push the boundaries of what is achievable using plant-based raw materials and circular economy composites.

A key partner in our development work is the Research and Development Centre for Wood-Based Panels in Czarna Woda—one of the most experienced institutions in Poland specialising in wood-based panel engineering.
Together, we conduct:
Thanks to this collaboration, the Strumber technology is built on scientific and industrial foundations of the highest credibility.
At Strumber®, intellectual property protection is a core element of building long-term technological leadership. All aspects of our technology are secured through IP, with additional filings currently underway.
We hold two patent applications (P.451603 and P.451604) protecting both the Strumber production technology and the material itself. In addition, we have secured 31 industrial designs, covering the distinctive structures and forms of our product. The Strumber technology has also obtained Freedom to Operate (FTO), confirming its safe implementation across international markets.
IP protection is an integral part of our development strategy, safeguarding commercialisation and strengthening Strumber’s position in the global market.

Every prototype and every production line reflects our passion, our sense of responsibility, and our drive to explore. Our R&D centre is where ideas evolve into technology, and technology evolves into materials capable of redefining the market.
