The project is research-oriented and involves carrying out R&D activities aimed at developing an innovative product on a European scale – Hybrid Timber, based on whole, non-fragmented, and non-shredded stems (straw) of annual plants (hemp and flax), treated as a waste and problematic raw material in agrotechnical processes.
As a result of research and development work, we expect to obtain an innovative and environmentally friendly material - a substitute for wood for further processing (e.g., cutting, planing, refining) based on a hybrid combination of fiber hemp and flax stalks. Hybrid lumber is intended to be an environmentally friendly alternative to wood.

The scope of the project includes conducting industrial research and development work, developing a mechanical process for converting sawmilling waste and annual plant stems into a cohesive composite material that will be formed without the use of thermal energy and without the addition of formaldehyde resins.
The main target group for the Gramber product will be Polish and European small and medium-sized enterprises specializing in the production of door joinery, particularly internal door frames.
The aim of the project is to develop an innovative technology for the production of a hybrid lignocellulosic composite called Gramber, utilizing local sawmilling waste and annual plant stems.
The planned result of the project will be an innovative structural material with high mechanical strength and a low environmental footprint, intended for use in the construction and furniture industries.
