In January 2026, we participated in 4 Design Days in Katowice - an event dedicated to architecture, design, and emerging directions in design practice. At the stand, we showcased Strumber, a wood alternative made from annual plants, alongside furniture crafted from the material: the HempSolo, HempStool, HempBean, and LinStool.
The event drew primarily designers and architects, who were able to see and feel Strumber firsthand. This direct encounter sparked conversations about its properties, aesthetic qualities, and potential applications in real interior and furniture projects. Many visitors were surprised to learn that the pieces on display, despite their solid wood-like appearance, were actually made from hemp and flax.
Throughout 4 Design Days, we established numerous new contacts. Discussions frequently concluded with inquiries about practical collaboration and the possibility of working with Strumber. Designers clearly expressed interest in testing the material and incorporating it into their projects, both for prototyping and future implementations.
Interest extended beyond the material itself to encompass its production technology and available variants. The event confirmed that Strumber is viewed as a genuine wood alternative - a material designers are already envisioning in their concepts and are eager to explore through further partnership.
