From June 10–12, 2025, we participated in the Furnitech Expo — an event dedicated to furniture components and technologies, held at PTAK Warsaw Expo. It is a space where industry leaders, innovators, and designers come together to discuss the future of furniture manufacturing and explore new solutions. During this edition, we presented Strumber Flax and Strumber Hemp — materials made from annual plants. They serve as an alternative to solid wood and support a more sustainable approach to design and production.
The previous edition of the fair gathered 95 exhibitors and nearly 7,000 visitors from 14 countries. This year’s event was equally inspiring, and materials made from annual plants drew tremendous interest. In numerous conversations with furniture manufacturers and designers, we showcased the properties of Strumber and demonstrated that using it requires no compromise in terms of aesthetics, durability, or quality. Visitors were especially intrigued by its natural wood-like appearance combined with the environmentally responsible origin of the raw material.
Furnitech Expo provided an excellent opportunity for discussions about potential implementations, applications, and future directions for materials made from annual plants. Guests were able to view live samples, examine the material’s structure, and learn more about the production process. Participation in the accompanying conference, “The Charm of Furniture Lies in Detail – Trends Shaping Tomorrow,” also allowed us to present the design and technological context of our work.
It was an intense and inspiring time that confirmed the industry’s growing interest in solutions supporting more responsible and sustainable design.
